In this 57th episode of the Real P3 podcast, Dr Casey Bradley speaks to Joshua Toews with NGF Global. Together they discuss block chain technology to connect farmers and buyers.
The Real P3 podcast series is an initiative where pork professionals from around the globe share their thoughts, insights, and solutions to their day-to-day challenges in the pig farming and production industry.
After school, Toews joined the airforce after which he worked on aircraft worldwide. With a strong operational background and as a multi-generational farmer, he returned to the US and into the agriculture sector where he managed a various grain elevators and pulse crop facilities. Together with his partner and co-founder, he decided to start NGF Global.
NGF Global, and more specifically, NGF Connect, was created to bridge the gap between producers and pulse crop/oilseed buyers and implement full transparency and traceability throughout the entire process. The company connects the farmers directly to the buyers, can handle logistics, and is also working on the processing of the crops.
Bradley asks Toews how the idea came about, how it works, and the importance of food security and traceability.
