The sixth edition of the World Nutrition Forum is expecting to bring together over 800 experts from 83 countries together in Munich, Germany, later this week.

The event, to be held 15-18 October, is organised and hosted by animal nutrition company Biomin. It is characterised by a large variety of independent speakers addressing the future of animal nutrition.

Earlier editions of the event were held in the Austrian cities of Mayrhofen, Vienna and Salzburg (twice). The 2012 edition was held in Singapore.

The conference will take place in the International Congress Center Munich.

On Thursday, speakers include Michael Eder, Biomin; Jørgen Randers, BI Norwegian Business School, Norway; Marty Matlock, University of Arkansas, USA; and Didier Jans, Fefana/Fami-QS, Belgium. This is followed by breakout sessions for poultry, swine, ruminants and aquaculture.

The breakout session on swine focuses on two questions:

  • Different regions – similar challenges?
  • Gut health is the best growth promoter

On the Friday, a mycotoxin session will be held featuring Franz Berthiller, BOKU, Austria; Bertrand Grenier, Purdue University, USA; James Pestka, Michigan State University, USA; and Siska Croubels, Ghent University, Belgium.

A session casting a look into the future, will include the speakers Tim Jones, Future Agenda, UK; and Jason Clay of the World Wildlife Foundation, USA.

Biomin’s Andreas Kern, Jan Vanbrabant and Erich Erber, Erber AG will also address the audience.
