Selling pork meat in Nsukka, South-East Nigeria has been banned after three people died as a result of eating pork.
Also, several people were hospitalised after consuming pork meat.
WHO part of investigation
According to the chairman of the Nsukka council area, Tony Ugwu, the council has already spoken to officials of the Ministry of Health and World Health Organisation (WHO) regarding the investigation.
The meat, food, water and utensils used in cooking will be examined by medical experts and the persons responsible forĀ the cooking will also be investigatedĀ in order to find out how this occurred.
The three deaths and hospitalisation occurred two days after the meat was served to guests at a funeral in Amaegbu village.
