France is getting ready for the annual trade show SPACE, focused on international livestock industry, to be held in Rennes, Brittany. The event, held 16 through 19 September, will showcase about 1,400 exhibitors.
The show presents itself as the second largest animal husbandry trade show on Earth – after EuroTier in Germany. The show offers the opportunity for e.g. pig, poultry, dairy and cattle producers to get to know the latest technology and be informed about the most recent insights.
Of the 1,400 exhibitors, over 360 companies come from abroad – from at least 31 different countries.
Last year’s edition showed that the interest abroad is gradually increasing. In 2013, almost 12,300 visitors from 110 countries found their way to Rennes in September.
As always, new products by exhibitors will be highlighted by the Innov’Space awards. In total, 49 companies are awarded these awards.
In addition, a ‘Research and Development Village’ showcases the theme of ‘work design’.
Its aim is to strengthen the extent to which ‘work’ is taken into account in farmers’ business strategy, encouraging them to review the organisation of their farms to improve the balance between productivity, well-being and working conditions.
A range of conferences and seminars will also be organised during SPACE.
