Olivier Demeure joins Groupe Grimaud as scientific director

Groupe Grimaud has announced the appointment of Olivier Demeure as the group’s scientific director starting January 1st, 2015.

Demeure, 36, holds a doctorate from the ENSAR (National Higher Agronomic School of Rennes). He has also gained international experience while working at a laboratory at Michigan State University – USA. Demeure has worked nine years for the French Agronomical Research Institute, INRA, conducting research on “complex trait genetics” and leading the INRA’s avian genetics network.

He will work transversally with the R&D directors of the Groupe’s specialised divisions: Broiler, laying hens, Waterfowls, Guinea fowl, Swine, Rabbit, and Shrimp.

Within Groupe Grimaud, his job will be to ensure a transversal approach to R&D between the divisions and to anticipate technological breakdowns in order to consolidate and develop the place of the group on these markets.

He will also be in charge of the developing networking and partnership opportunities with research institutions such as universities as well as public and private research centres. He will also attend and speak at international conferences.
