Norel opens piglet facility at research station

Norel has opened of a new state of the art piglet facility in the research station in León, which can accommodate up to 120 piglets in 24 pens, multiplying by three the actual capacity of the farm, and increases the potential to run more detailed trials, with a higher number of replicates.

This new building is designed, as well, to evaluate any effect that the different diets may have on the animal´s manure, as it has four separated basins that would gather, separately, the detritus of the different pens upon them.

Besides the standard zootechnical parameters, as there are three times more replicates, the investigations can now better answer certain questions regarding how the different additives and raw materials can affect the gastrointestinal tract environment, microbial population, and, of course, diet digestibility.
