New piglet space saves labour and energy

Dutch livestock equipment company Verba launched a new kind of piglet area which can be located in the front side of a regular farrowing pen.

The cabin, called ‘Verba Piglet Cabin’, has various qualities:

• It is comfortable, as the roof and front side are made of transparent polycarbonate;

• It is labour saving as the piglets can be weaned easily due to a mobile front side – and because cleaning is easy;

• It is energy saving as the floor is equipped with a rubber element which contains floor heating. This plastic floor retains its temperature and will not cool down when piglets go for a drink.

The piglet cabin is available in all sizes and will fit in any farrowing pen.
