Dunkin’ Donuts join sow crate elimination bandwagon

The fast food retailer has announced that it will phase out sow gestation crates from its supply chain, and is consulting its producers before its presents a phasing-out schedule.

Dunkin’ Donuts serves baked goods and coffee, and claims to serve more than three million customers daily.

The Humane society of the United States (HSUS) applauded Dunkin’Donuts announcement.

Dunkin’ Donuts’ vice president of global supply chain Scott Murphy said to Pork Network, “We’re working with our partners at The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and our franchisee-owned distribution and purchasing cooperative to source ingredients that meet high animal welfare standards.”
