Brazilian pork exports supplies to Russia decreased

Experts estimate that imports of Brazilian pork to Russia in January-July 2011 will be about 120 thousand tonnes. Comparing with the same period of last year, a drop of 12.5%. In January-June 2011 there was also decreased shipments of Brazilian pork to Ukraine and Kazakhstan. At the same time pork supplies to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and some other CIS countries has slightly increased.

The volume of exports of pig carcasses to Russia in June 2011 amounted to 4.7 tonnes, which is almost 1.8 times higher than in May 2011, and 20.9% less than in June of the last year. In January-June 2011 from Brazil to Russia about 20 thousand tonnes of pig carcasses have been shipped – 9.2% lower than the in same period of the last year.

The volume of exports of pork cuts from Brazil to Russia in June 2011 amounted to slightly less than 20 tonnes, which is 52.2% more than in May 2011 and 36% more than in June of the 2010. In January-June 2011 from Brazil to Russia 88.6 tonnes of Brazilian pork cuts was shipped – 12.4% lower than in January-June 2010.
