Lesaffre acquires majority stake in Biorigin
Lesaffre has acquired a 70% stake in Biorigin, a business unit of Zilor, which produces yeast derivative products, to enhance the supply of yeast derivatives for savory ingredients. The cooperation aims to improve production processes, logistics and services for customers globally. The deal includes Biorigin’s production unit in Quatá/São Paulo.
Munters acquires Hotraco and strengthens its position in Europe
Munters has signed an agreement to acquire Hotraco, a developer of control systems and sensors for the agricultural sector, strengthening Munters FoodTech portfolio. It marks another step in the strategy to create a digital ecosystem built around data capture platforms and software that supports a more efficient and sustainable food production.
Ceva receives EU marketing authorisation for Cirbloc M Hyo
Ceva Animal Health has received European marketing authorisation from the European Commission for Cirbloc M Hyo. The new vaccine is based on the PCV2d genotype and on the Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M.hyo) strain BA 2940 already used in Hyogen. With a single injection of 2 mL it is possible to reach the best length of protection, according to the company.
CJ Bio Completes Transition of Thr Pro 80% to 85% Active
CJ Bio announced the completion of the planned transition of Threonine Pro, increasing its active L-threonine content from 80% to 85%. The company’s facility in Fort Dodge, Iowa, began manufacturing Threonine Pro 85% in June, ceasing production of 80% material. Threonine Pro was first introduced to the US market in 2019.
Nutreco opens first cell feed production facility
MSD Animal Health UK has called on the UK government and food supply chain industry to support and promote the use of new technologies to enhance animal health and welfare, to improve production efficiencies, and to safeguard the sustainability and economic viability of livestock farming businesses. The company also published a 23-page technical white paper, ‘Time for Tech: The Time is Now’ to illustrate how these technologies can benefit farmers, the supply chain and end consumers.
Weltec Biopower announces new brand name
Weltec Biopower has changed the name of Kumac to ‘Weltec Blue Water’ for slurry and digestate treatment. Weltec Blue Water, which separates solids from the water in a multi-stage process, is suitable for pig and cattle farmers, biogas plant operators and industrial companies. Weltec will be present at the upcoming EuroTier in Hall 25, Stand H21.
Cargill to unveil new micronutrition and health solutions brand portfolio
Under its new Micronutrition and Health Solutions brand portfolio, Cargill Animal Nutrition will showcase Neopigg Nutriplay in Hall 19/20, B52 at EuroTier. The piglet pre-starter targets both nutritional and cognitive factors to stimulate feeding behavior. The company states that it increases the number of early eaters by up to twice as much as conventional neonatal feed, thanks to its sound, color, texture, aroma, and flavor.
Alltech releases latest sustainability report
Alltech has released its annual Sustainability Report with highlights including a reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 19.8%, the completion of 19 energy efficiency projects, the completion of 74 core product life-cycle analyses across its top 7 specialty ingredients and 17 production facilities, as well as being awarded 3 EcoVadis sustainability medals in 2023, and accredited by the Pet Sustainability Coalition for the third year in a row.
