Pig Progress will be present at VIV Asia 2025 with 2 seminars to address topical issues in swine production. The theme of “sustainability” will get attention in a seminar that will be held on Thursday, March 13, as from noon in room Jupiter 10 at the Impact showgrounds in Bangkok, Thailand.

In a seminar of roughly 75 minutes, 3 expert speakers will delve into the topic of gut health, addressing various aspects of the issue.

Dr Sakdid Anulomsombat, Betagro

Dr Sakdid Anulomsombat is vice president of the corporate innovation office at Betagro, one of Thailand’s largest agribusinesses. He oversees both the Food Safety & Quality Management and Research and Innovation departments. Dr Sakdid is committed to advancing food safety, animal welfare and public health. In this presentation he will explain what the importance of sustainability for Betagro’s swine production business.

Dr Lea Hübertz Birch Hansen, Novonesis

On behalf of Novonesis, Dr Lea Hübertz Birch Hansen, global technical product manager, will zoom in at the theme “Leveraging microbial solutions for sustainable pig farming.” She will discuss key sustainability metrics in pig farming and the role of microbial solutions in promoting sustainable pig production. She will close off by asking the question how to reduce emissions through microbial solutions.

Dr Grant Walling, Topigs Norsvin

Next on stage will be Dr Grant Walling, technical business developer Asia at breeding company Topigs Norsvin. He will zoom in on sustainable swine genetics – and how investing in those can help doing a better job in Asia. He will address how businesses may wish to refocus their KPIs to reflect the importance of sustainability. And he will also discuss why consumers may have to accept changes in the final pork product to accommodate sustainability goals.
