British bacon market
This acquisition represents the importance Vion places on the English market especially for bacon and fresh meat for retail. The convenience food market is growing strongly in the UK and Vion should be able to provide a more attractive assortment for consumers.
Both parties will strive to work together in the areas of production, innovation, logistics and sales. The current management team of J&J Tranfield will remain responsible for the operational direction.
The amount paid by Vion is unknown.
