VevoVitall® registered for use in piglet feeds in the EU

VevoVitall (the ultra-pure grade of benzoic acid) is officially authorised within the EU for use in piglet feeds in the category ‘Other Zootechnical’.

DSM is the first company to get a registration for a feed additive following the new centralised procedure 1831/2003. VevoVitall can be used at a dosage of 5 kg/tonne of feed to improve the growth and the welfare of piglets.

This new registration is the second approval for VevoVitall in the EU. Its use in growing and fattening pigs decreases the emission of ammonia in the environment. Studies also demonstrate that the addition of VevoVitall to pig feed leads to a benefit of €1-2 per pig.
