UK campaign for home-produced pork

BPISG, a British pig industry initiative, has announced that it will begin its poster campaign in the new year.

Its 16ft (4.8 metre) wide posters will go on trailer-mounted A-frames with the aim to persuade consumers to purchase more British pork and pork products.

“Some retailers are favouring cheap imported pork over domestic products where the welfare status can be guaranteed,” said Ellen Furby of BPISG.

“If this practice continues, it will undermine the price increases retailers have recently introduced on British products, at the request of the industry”.

BPISG commented that, “ideally, we would have one of these A-frame trailers daily on the road in every county.”
