In the middle of March representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia said that classical swine fever in Russia has been completely eliminated, because outbreaks in the country were registered for several months. However, in Russia last week two new outbreaks of classical swine fever were found.

IThe first was recorded in Kamyshin district, Volgograd region. According to Rosselkhoznadzor sick pigs were located at a private farm in Semenovka village. The samples of pathological material taken by experts of Volgograd Regional Veterinary Laboratory, confirmed the presence of the causative agent of classical swine fever.

Currently measures are being carried out to prevent and eliminate the further spread of the disease.

Another outbreak of classical swine fever was detected in hunting sector Monolith, Smolensk region, according to Rosselkhoznadzor.

As it was noted in the statement, in Monolith wild boars were found dead, which is mostly  due to the avoidance of veterinary and sanitary requirements of Russian legislation by the owners of the hunting sector. Currently, hunting is prohibited in the area as well as any transportation of domestic and wild pigs, as well as the products of slaughter and hunting.
