Fertiliser, among the 39 product items on the Commerce Ministry’s price control list, should be cut by about 2,500 baht a tonne, as the strong baht has made imports cheaper, says Vatchari Vimooktayon, the department’s director-general, adding that 16-20-0 fertiliser is still being quoted locally at 14,000 baht per tonne.

According to Mrs Vimooktayon, the department is also meeting with pork retailers to ask them to cut retail©by 5 to-10 baht per kilogramme to no more than 105 baht per kilo. ©
