29-03-2007 | |

American pork producer Smithfield Foods has been slaughtering 8% less pigs over the last three months in comparison to the same period last year.

Smithfield, the world’s largest pork producer, blames the decline to the prevalence of PCVAD in the North American continent.

Smithfield says vaccination project are being carried out. However, these vaccins have not been in the market for long and are not yet widely available.
