Russian ASF outbreak developments

Roughly 600 pigs will be culled in southern Russia to prevent further spread of the African swine fever virus, which was detected last week in the Stavropol Region, a spokesperson for the regional governor said on Friday.

Following the outbreak Ukraine has banned pork imports from the affected region. Also, Azerbaijan’s State Veterinary Service has imposed a ban on meat-related imports from Russia. The State Veterinary Service said the temporary restriction measure applies to animal products, feedings and food additives.
