Roxell: New look, coatings, colour for pig feed equipment

26-05-2010 | |

Around the last edition of VIV Europe, Belgian livestock feed equipment manufacturer Roxell has introduced a series of improvements in its product range.

First of all, the company’s manual outlets have been given a new design. A remarkable asymmetric shape of the drop creates an optimal feed flow.

A wear-resistant nylon slide replaces the older metal shut-off slide. The outlets are splash waterproof and available in various diameters (55, 75, 90 mm) for the company’s various transport systems.

Protective coating
In addition, the company introduced feed bins supplied with hopper plates that have a special coating. This protects the vulnerable inner side of the hopper plates during transportation, handling and assembly, which benefits the feed flow.

Pig-feed systems
Last but not least, the company completed the colour restyling of its pig feeding systems. The market had already met a new blue colour of the Blu’Hox for piglets and fattening pigs. The deep blue will now also be used for all sow feeding systems and the Discaflex transport system.

The new style fits within a marketing strategy to give the company’s systems for sows and fattening pigs a distinctive image.

Malaysia
As from this month, the Belgian company can service its customers and distributors in South-East Asia directly from its newly opened facility in Malaysia. The new branch is located in Shah Alam in Selangor state.

The location has been strategically chosen because of the proximity of the port of Port Klang on the west coast. Furthermore, the location offers direct access to the major roads and railways and to the airports on the peninsula. The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is less than 25 km away.

In an initial phase, the company will concentrate solely on the delivery of its complete broiler concept.

New location
From its new location, the company will start supplying Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The buildings cover 2500 m², 1800 m² of which is for storage and shipping 700 m² for offices. Four qualified staff are responsible for the order processing and shipments. In the near future, two sales staff will supplement Malaysian team.
