At the National Pork Industry Forum in St. Louis March 6-8, the Pork Act Delegate Body will deliberate on issues and challenges facing the pork industry.
This year’s theme is “Owning our Future: The Choices We Face.”
Delegates will discuss how the US pork industry can address the wishes of its customers while building a trust relationship and maintaining sustainability, commented Lynn Harrison, president of the National Pork Board.
“The Forum represents an opportunity for people who invest in the Checkoff to participate in the business of how to use those investments to address the critical issues faced by US pork producers,” said Harrison.
The Pork Act Delegate Body for 2008 consists of 155 pork producers and eight importers who have been appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture.
The rate of the Checkoff and the amount of Checkoff revenue distributed to state pork associations will be discussed during the forum.
