Enzyvia, a division of JBS United, announces that Bob Dowden has joined the company as its managing director.
Dowden (pictured) is a seasoned executive with experience in the animal health, pharmaceutical and medical device industries. In his 30+ year career, Dowden has held various marketing, HR and senior management positions with the medical device manufacturer, Guidant Corporation (which was purchased by Boston Scientific), global pharmaceutical giant, Eli Lilly and Company, and animal health leader, Elanco.
Dowden’s combined leadership experience in these diverse international companies and his knowledge of the animal health industry made him the perfect candidate to lead Enzyvia into the future. Enzyvia is responsible for marketing and commercializing various enzyme products, including OptiPhos®, an advanced phytase that allows livestock to access more of the phosphorus in their grain feed, and Enspira®, a blend of enzymes to help poultry get more from their diets and improve their health.
Enzyvia sells its products internationally and the company is poised to grow substantially as the advanced bio-catalyst market continues to gain interest around the world and more benefits are realized from their use. Dowden’s international business experience, which includes living and working in Singapore for two years, will be especially beneficial as the company expands.
He attended Purdue University, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree. While holding a variety of job titles in his career, much of his responsibilities have been focused in the area of marketing and strategic planning, which will be a large part of his role in leading Enzyvia.
