Outbreak Classical Swine Fever in Russia

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) has issued an alert about an outbreak of Classical Swine Fever in Savostino village in South-west Russia.

To-date four cases have been identified in wild pigs and the animals have subsequently been slaughtered.

The source is unknown. Measures applied include: screening of other animals in the vicinity, quarantine, vaccination and a control zone has been set-up.
