The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) in the USA has elected Jill Appell, co-owner of Appell’s Pork Farms of Altona, Illinois, to be the council’s new president.
Appell, elected for a one-year term, succeeds Joy Philippi, from Bruning, Nebraska, who will serve on the board as immediate past president.
The NPPC also elected more new officers and directors:
• Bryan Black (Ned Black & Sons farm in Canal Winchester, Ohio) was named president-elect
• Don Butler (director government relations and public affairs with Murphy-Brown) vice president.
