New name for animal disease institute

27-07-2007 | |

‘Central Veterinary Institute’ will probably be the new name of the organisation to be formed as a result of the merger between the Central Institute for Animal Disease Control (CIDC-Lelystad) and the Infectious Diseases Division of the Animal Sciences Group (ASG).

Both institutes are part of Wageningen University and Research Center in the Netherlands.

André Bianchi, at present director of CIDC-Lelystad, will head the new institute.

The announcement was made last week at a meeting for employees of both organisations. The new institute will come under ASG. The merger should be completed by January 1, 2008.
