New CEO for National Pork Board

The National Pork Board has reported that Chris Novak would take over as CEO. The firm’s new chief executive officer will start on 1 October.

Novak will replace Steve Murphy, who announced his resignation in January and who has continued to serve while the board searched for his replacement.

About Novak
Novak has been the executive director of the Indiana Soybean Alliance and Indiana’s corn organisations. He headed the merger of two soybean organisations and assisted in building partnerships between Indiana’s soybean, corn and livestock commodity organisations. Also, Novak worked to secure passage of a new state corn checkoff.

“This is like coming home for me. I look forward to building on the grassroots tradition of serving both the producers who invest in the Pork Checkoff and those who hold a stake in the success of the US pork industry,” said Novak.
