Nearly 7,000 visitors for first AgroFarm

The premiere of the first edition of AgroFarm, held in Moscow, Russia from June 19-21, was visited by 6,800 visitors from all over Russia.

The visitors to the first edition of this show, saw a total of 120 exhibitors from eleven countries present, showing modern genetics as well as livestock-keeping and feeding technology for pigs and cattle.

Satisfaction
The figures satisfied the event organisers APK VVC (Moscow) and DLG Agriservice, a subsidiary of DLG (German Agricultural Society, Frankfurt am Main, also responsible for EuroTier).

The concept, built around the two supporting pillars of a trade exhibition and professional programme, was geared to the large demand for information and investment amongst Russian professionals.

Information
AgroFarm 2007 provided pig farmers with a large array of information. The British Pig Association, for example, with its joint stand of British exhibitors put together a special programme specifically targeting the Russian market.

AgroFarm 2007 was officially opened by the Russian deputy agricultural minister, Sergey Mitin, the representative of the State Duma’s Agricultural Committee, Airan Khairullin, DLG’s exhibitions’ manager, Dr Jochen Köckler, and the deputy agricultural director of the Russian AgroFarm organiser GAO VVC, Soja Bautina.
