Lithuanian State Food and Veterinary Service said that Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance has lifted its interim restrictions on pork export from the Kaunas region as of January 18.
The restriction was applied from June when Classical Swine Fever (CSF) virus was detected in pig farms in Jonava, Kaunas district.
Kaunas district was the last one in Lithuania to have Russian restrictions on import of pork and its products that have not been heat treated, said LETA/ELTA.
