Large Dutch-French trade fair merger

Leading Pan-European commercial property investor and developer, Unibail-Rodamco from the Netherlands has joined forces with the Paris Chamber of Commerce to bundle their respective fair and congress activities.

They have created two new organisations for trade fairs and congresses – VIPARIS and COMEXPOSIUM. Both parties will have a 50% share in the ownership of the new organisations.

The aim behind the combining of their activities is to secure the Paris region’s international position on the world market.

VIPARIS combines 9 fair locations and is the largest fair space provider covering 575,000 m².

The construction of a new exhibition hall by 2010 covering 36,000m² accompanies the new project. It will be built on the Nord-Villepinte fairgrounds in the north of Paris, which covers 240,000m² and will become the 6th largest exhibition ground in Europe.

COMEXPOSIUM is the largest trade fair organisation in France. It will organise 180 fairs, involving 35,000 exhibitors and will attract around 4.1 million visitors yearly.
