EuroTier to discuss event at Ildex in Vietnam
More than 1700 exhibitors and in excess of 130,000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s EuroTier 2010. Held at the Hanover Exhibition Centre, in Germany, the international flavour of the show is best highlighted by the number of overseas visitors, some of which are expected to come from Vietnam.
EuroTier organisers DLG are on hand to discuss the event with Vietnamese livestock experts at Ildex from March 25-27 March 2010.
Vietnam is the world’s fourth largest pork producer, and farmers account for nearly half of Vietnam’s 88 million population. They have lots to do because Vietnamese consumers have more disposable income and sales of pork and chicken are rising. The booming livestock industry was given a major boost recently following an increase in government subsidies.
More interest from Vietnam
“We are getting more and more interest from Vietnam,” confirms Annette Reichhold, marketing manager South-Pacific, EuroTier. “With new government subsidies announced earlier this year, we are expecting EuroTier to become an important platform for advanced technology purchasing decisions to support the country’s ambitious goals.”
These ambitious goals include Vietnamese Government plans to boost the annual growth rate of the country’s agricultural sector by more than 3.5 percent by 2020. They reckon high-tech farming is the key not only to reaching this target but also to ensure national food security, now and in the future. The value of produce from this sector is forecast to reach 10-15 percent of total agriculture production within the next five years, and 30-35 percent by 2020.
EuroTier is the world’s top event for international animal production technologies. Covering every aspect of production; industry special events and forums tackle a wide range of global issues. It is the ideal information platform for countries such as Vietnam looking to invest and modernise its agricultural sector.
The second Chinese-European Pig Summit will take place at EuroTier and will include speakers from the Chinese government and a delegation of Chinese pig experts.
The German Association of Veterinary Practitioners (BPT) will once again hold its annual congress and associated veterinary medicine exhibition. It will be held at the same Exhibition Grounds and at the same time as EuroTier.
Furthermore, an International Animal Health Event organised jointly by the DLG and BPT will not only serve as a meeting place for veterinarians from all over the world, but also as a link between EuroTier and the BPT Congress.
Vietnam is also one of the world’s most advanced Aquaculture nations, and this year’s EuroTier will certainly interest this sector. Suppliers will reveal all their latest technology; and the complete spectrum including inland fishing and environmental engineering will be represented in Hanover.
