Netherlands-based livestock management systems manufacturer Nedap Agri will show two additions to its Nedap Velos management system at EuroTier.
The company introduces Farrowing Pen Feeding, that allows breeders to programme sow feed consumption during lactation. The system offers the possibility of continuously dropping little bits of feed, to encourage sows to take their time for their meals.
The addition means that the Nedap Velos system now offers total monitoring of sows throughout their life, supplying a host of useful information about feed consumption.
Pig Performance Testing
For use in grower-finishers, the Pig Performance Testing was added to the Velos system. This combines a weighing scales with a feeding point, providing day-to-day data on daily gain and feed conversion.
The innovation is particularly useful for breeders who would like to know the growing efficiency of offspring.
EuroTier will be held in Hanover, Germany, from 13 through 16 November. Nedap can be found in Hall 11, D04.
