Exports in the Dutch pig industry move from meat to live pigs.
These figures appear from a report by the Dutch Product Board for Livestock and Meat, focusing on the first quarter of 2006. In that period, pig industry exported for over €168 million worth of pigs and piglets, compared to 2005, a rise of 12.6%.
However, the total value of pigmeat exports from the Netherlands dropped to €255 million, a year-on-year drop of 4.1%.
