Danish Crown considers closing slaughterhouse

28-03-2008 | |

Leading international food producer, Danish Crown, is expecting a further reduction in deliveries in the coming year. Hence, one of its 12 slaughterhouses in Denmark may close down operations.

A reduction of 3 to 5% in deliveries is predicted following an exodus of some members of the cooperative who were dissatisfied with the prices they were receiving.

In the year 2006-2007, deliveries had already dropped by 5% due to two separate fires, reducing the number of slaughtered pigs to 18.2 million.
