Cargill: Vegetarian diet for Good Nature pork line

09-09-2009 | |

Cargill Pork is to feed pigs which supply its Good Nature pork line of products a 100% vegetarian diet.

The vegetarian diet, which is Cargill’s most recent addition to its all-natural standards for Good Nature pork means hogs receive a mixture of natural grain — a diet completely free of any animal by-products. The product is already guaranteed to be antibiotic-free, with hogs selected from the program never receiving growth stimulants.

“Good Nature pork is targeted at a growing consumer audience that is very conscious of how and where their food is raised,” said Joe Linot, pork marketing manager for Cargill Pork.
