CAHE attracts over 33,000 visitors on opening day

The first and most important day of the 11th China Animal Husbandry Exhibition (CAHE) in Wuhan, Hubei province attracted 33,597 visitors. That was according to the organisers’ expectations.

The show is a professional event, focused on the Chinese market and directed at all kinds of animal husbandry – pigs, poultry, beef cattle, sheep – even camels. Most attention, however, was paid to the swine industry.

The organiser China Animal Agriculture Association (CAAA) reported that on this first day, 3,506 visitors came from abroad. This mainly included the Netherlands and USA as well as those countries providing pavilions, e.g. Denmark, Germany, the UK and France.

Total number of exhibitors in this show amounted to 1,426. Of these, 152 were from abroad – this included branch companies and representative offices. The largest booth type covered 450 m2.

When including exhibitors as well, the total number of people at the large Wuhan International Exhibition Center amounted to 52,336 at peak time, said Liu Wentao, deputy director of the CAAA’s exhibition department.

The annual CAHE is held in a different city every year. This is due to the vastness of China and to be able to offer both visitors as well as exhibitors in several provinces – in this case Hubei – the opportunity to take part in the show more actively.

In 2012, CAHE was held in Nanjing. At that time, 1,240 exhibitors could be found. Next year the show will be held at 18-20 May again – it is not decided yet where this show will be held.
