120 tonnes of pork meat has started to make its way to China. The shipment of the meat started yesterday and will also continue today.
It has been reported that the shipment will make its way to the Shanghai and Yantian ports.
The meat comes from the state of Santa Catarina. Last year April an agreement was put in place so that the Brazilian government can directly import Brazilian pork to China. Whereas previously, China had to receive Brazilian meat via Hong Kong.
However, Brazil’s Coopecentral Aurora has made it possible to track each animal, in terms of place of birth and also slaughter details, this is has been made possible in order to meet China’s strict requirements.
