The new team members provide industry-leading swine expertise to integrators, producers, and veterinarians responsible for managing swine herd health.
Commitment to the industry “The recent introduction of Baytril 100 into the swine market is important because it gives producers and veterinarians access to the unique mode of action of the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics,” say Dr. Cary Christensen, Senior Director, Food Animal Products Business Unit at Bayer Animal Health. “The addition of these three swine experts will also be of tremendous value to our customers and are a major part of our continuing commitment to the industry.”
Joining Bayer Animal Health are Jim Lovin and Mark Hux as Technical Sales Specialists and Dr. Andy Holtcamp as a member of the Veterinary Technical Services group. Lovin has more than 25 years of industry experience, both as a swine product sales representative and as an owner and manager of a farrow to finish operation, bringing hands-on knowledge of upper Midwest swine operations.
Hux specialises in working with large integrators from a product sales and support role and has been working in the industry for more than a decade in the eastern and southeastern portions of the United States.
Dr. Holtcamp, a published researcher and industry event presenter, has nearly 20 years of swine industry experience, ranging from owning and managing a farrow to finish unit to serving as the staff veterinarian and supervisor of a research farm for Iowa Select Farms, Inc.
World-class swine team “We are thrilled to add such a high level of swine expertise to the Bayer Animal Health team,” says Todd Firkins, Livestock Category Manager. “Baytril 100 is a tremendously important new product for the swine market, and having the support of a world-class swine team will help swine producers and veterinarians better manage SRD.”
Baytril 100, a lifesaving antimicrobial, is bactericidal — killing four major SRD-causing bacteria: Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus parasuis and Streptococcus suis. Baytril 100 works fast and starts killing bacteria within a matter of minutes.
Furthermore, Baytril 100 is concentration-dependent, not time-dependent, delivering peak therapeutic drug concentrations via a single injection. It has been the choice of bovine veterinarians and beef cattle producers for more than 10 years, and is the largest-selling, single-dose antibiotic in its class.
