African swine fever suppressed in Armenia
Spread of the African swine fever outbreak in Armeina has been completely suppressed, Head of RA State Veterinary Inspection Grisha Baghyan has said.
The outbreak of the African fever virus in two northern regions of Armenia was revealed in early August, 2007. A total of 7 sources of infection were fixed in the country and, according to the responsible persons, all the required measures were taken to suppress the spread of the virus over the whole territory of the republic, including quarantining the infection sources. At the same time, the State Veterinary Service of Armenia imposed a temporary ban on imports of pork from Georgia.
