The 23rd edition of the annual livestock show SPACE, held in Rennes, France, 15-18 September, attracted just under 110,000 visitors, the organisation revealed at its website.
A total number of 108,077 visitors entered the showgrounds at Parc-Expo near Rennes Airport. According to the show organisation this is ‘an excellent number taking into account the difficult situation in livestock industry.’ Close to 1,300 exhibitors were waiting for them.
Foreign visitors
Total foreign visitor numbers amounted to 9,317, which equals 8.3% of the total. The number of foreign visitors increased slightly in comparison to 2008 as last year, 9,066 made their way to Britanny.
In total, the 2008 edition of SPACE welcomed slightly more visitors as that year saw a record number of 113,580 visitors passing the gates.
In the press release it was stated that “the majority of exhibitors were positively surprised by the number and especially the quality of the visitors they received, just like the quality of the contacts they had had.”
The next edition of SPACE is scheduled for 14-17 September, 2010. For more information on last week’s show, click here.
