PRRS in TUV, Mongolia

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) was confirmed in TUV, Mongolia, according to the World Organisation for Animal Helath (OIE).

The disease was reported on the 3 April by Dr Bolortuya Purevsuren, deputy director and chief veterinary officer, Ministry for Industry and Agriculture.



There were 293 cases discovered, 44 animals died due to PRRS and as a result 293 pigs were destroyed.



Measures have been taken to stop  the disease, the origin of the outbreak is currently unknown.
