DSM-Firmenich has confirmed the successful merger of DSM and Firmenich and the resulting launch of a new company in the space of animal nutrition and human health and beauty.

With a nearly 30,000-strong team and combined capabilities, DSM-Firmenich says that it aims to be a trailblazer in the reinvention, manufacturing, and combination of nutrients, flavours, and fragrances. The new company seeks to “tackle the tension between what society needs, what people individually want, and what the planet demands in the areas of nutrition, health, and beauty”.

The new company has been structured into 4 businesses, one of which is animal nutrition and health. According to the company, this unit aims to deliver healthy animal proteins efficiently and sustainably, harnessing the power of data to make animal farming practices more sustainable, productive, and transparent.

“We’re on a mission to help the animal farming industry feed our growing population more sustainably. Our farm-to-fork solutions help farmers reduce their environmental impact, improve animal performance and welfare, and secure sustainable livelihoods. All while putting high-quality animal protein on our plates: protein that’s healthy, nutritious, safe, and affordable,” the company notes.

The other 3 businesses are: human health, nutrition and care; taste, texture & health for food and beverage products, and; perfumery & beauty.
