First animals arrive at Topigs Norsvin nucleus farm Innova Canada

The first animals have arrived at the new Topigs Norsvin nucleus farm, Innova Canada, in Manitoba. This first batch of 395 Z-line sows and gilts was brought in from the nucleus farm Paradise Valley. A total of 750 sows and 1,600 gilts will be brought in. An innovation in the new nucleus is the implementation of group gestation and loose farrowing.

DLG Thai renamed DLG Asia Pacific

The DLG’s (the German Agricultural Society) subsidiary, DLG Thai, located in Bangkok, Thailand, now operates under the name DLG Asia Pacific. The new name reflects the regional focus of the subsidiary and forms part of DLG’s growing international focus on prospective agricultural and food markets.

duBreton organic pork distribution expanded

The duBreton organic fresh pork cuts are now available in more Whole Foods Market stores across the US, with around 275 new outlets added. The 4th-generation family business says this meat has been raised to the highest animal welfare standards and fed on non-GMO grains.

CP Foods plans 100% renewable energy-powered animal farms

CP Foods unveils plans to develop a prototype for a fully renewable energy-powered animal farm. Dubbed the RE100 prototype farm, an array of renewable energy sources will be incorporated, including solar panels installed across farms, feed mills, and food manufacturing facilities, and waste-to-energy initiatives and recycling waste into renewable power.

Panbonis, a flagship Herbonis product, contains the plant-based source of the metabolic active form of Vitamin D which the company says has proven health benefits in pigs, poultry, and dairy.
