Join the Pig Research Summit – THINK Piglet Health & Nutrition 2023, where the world’s leading experts in piglets, health and nutrition will gather on 21-22 September 2023, at the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen, Denmark. Take advantage of the early bird discount by signing up before the 20th June.

Welfare and health are crucial factors for piglets born in today’s pig production. Sharing innovation and new trends is essential to provide optimal conditions for suckling pigs during their early stages in the farrowing unit.

“We know that knowledge is crucial for piglet survival. This applies not only to litters from highly productive sows but is also a success criterion for everyone working with piglets,” says Christian Fink Hansen, sector director for Agriculture & Food Council Pig Research Centre.

Prominent researchers for the programme

For the two conference days, the most prominent researchers in the field have been handpicked to present their latest results in the field. Among the many researchers are Vivi Aarestrup Moustsen, PhD and Chief Researcher at SEGES Innovation; Thomas Sønderby Bruun, Senior Specialist at SEGES Innovation; and Yolande Seddon, PhD and Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada.

“We have put a lot of effort into selecting researchers who can present exciting results in their respective fields and provide insights into how we can improve production in the farrowing unit in terms of welfare and productivity,” says Karl Pedersen, Chief Researcher at SEGES Innovation and member of the Scientific Committee.

6 topics ahead of the congress

The conference focuses on six research fields for the production of piglets:

  1. Feeding strategies for sows before farrowing

  2. Feeding sows for higher milk production

  3. Immunity of suckling pigs

  4. Feeding of piglets before weaning

  5. Management of sows with large udders

  6. Arrangement of the farrowing pen
