According to operational results in the first quarter of 2013, Russian pork producer and feed agricultural holding Miratorg continues to show an increase in production volume.
Pork production
During the first three months of 2013 Miratorg’s volume of pork production amounted to 86.513 tonnes in live weight, which is 49% higher than the same period of 2012 (57.909 tonnes). Production growth of 28.604 tonnes in live weight was achieved mainly due to a number of pig complexes that were commissioned, which were constructed in 2012 to full production capacity, as well as the improvement of production processes in already operating farms.
Production of animal feed
In the first quarter of 2013, total feed production by Miratorg amounted to 254.8 thousand tonnes, which is 56% higher than in 2012 (163.370 tonnes). In 2013, a fourth feed mill of the holding is planned for the Bryansk region which should have a production capacity of 360,000 tonnes.
The estimated production capacity of four feed mills in the Belgorod and Bryansk regions will be 1.46 million tonnes of feed per year. The total capacity of grain storage is 575,000 tonnes. The planned volume of feed production in 2013 is estimated at 1.12 million tonnes, which will fully meet feed demands of 2.7 million pigs at the company’s pig farms as well as 9 mln poultry. Currently, the company is the largest producer of animal feed in Russia.
