Animal nutrition company Kemin won one of the four innovation awards at VIV Europe, held 20-22 May, in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Kemin received the award in the category Health & Nutrition for its lipid evaluation test. The test is a new customer service tool to better assess the oxidative quality and nutritional value of oils in fats and feed.
The test provides nutritionists with accurate lipid profiles containing the apparent metabolisable (AME) values and oxidative status and potential in order to improve applications and combat unwanted variations of oils and fats in animal nutrition.
Other awards
In total, four awards were handed out. The award for Farming & Housing went to Hotraco for their Fortica Poultry computer; the award for Hatchery & Breeding went to the new Hatch Care system of Hatchtech; Marel Stork Poultry Processing won the award in the category Processing for their new reference in whole product distribution.
The prizes have been awarded on the basis of a public vote; visitors of the show’s website had been able to vote through the Web prior to and during the show.
In total, 38 products were nominated in four different categories. Of all award winners, Marel’s innovation received the most votes, making them overall winner.
