Following an inspection visit from an official delegation from AQSIQ (the general administration of quality supervision, inspection and quarantine) of the People’s Republic of China last year, Hermitage Genetics Callan AI station has been officially approved for the export of porcine semen to China.
This is the first time that an official health certificate has been agreed to facilitate the export of fresh chilled pig semen from ireland to China. The official inspection was coordinated by the Irish department of agriculture, food and the marine and the health certificate was officially agreed between the two authorities.
China is a key market for Hermitage Genetics and a number of leading Chinese companies have already visited Ireland with a view to importing hermitage genetics and working with the Hermitage pigblup exchange breeding programmes in Chinese market.
