German feed company Berg + Schmidt will focus on its recently launched fatty acid product Lodestar CLA L50 during the upcoming edition of EuroTier, held November 11-14.

The product consists of selected fatty acids for both pig rearing and finishing. According to a company press release, these have a positive effect on fat metabolism and nutrient intake in the organism and ensure faster growth.

The special fats of vegetable origin bring optimum benefit both to sows with high nursing performance and to fattening pigs in the final growing period.

Added to the feed, the product promote fat metabolism and nutrient uptake from the feed and support the immune system. It is therefore the ideal choice for sows with large litters.

In the final finishing phase from 70 kg, the use of the product in ad lib feeding results in faster growth with lower feed consumption, the press release states. Fat deposition is reduced thanks to better feed conversion.

In addition, the Hamburg, Germany-based company will also showcase its long-time core product BergaFat range, for use in ruminants, poultry and pigs. The products are based on high quality palm oil, fractionated physically by using the company’s own technology. This permits separation into unsaturated and high-melting saturated fat fractions without the usual hydrogenation process. The product is therefore free of the physiologically undesirable trans-fatty acids that result from hardening.

The company is specialised in rumen-bypass fat powders, enzymes, lecithins, omega-6 fatty acids, and also medium-chain fatty acids and esters.

Lectures

The company’s feed experts will also pass on their knowledge during two lectures in German at EuroTier. On Wednesday, November 12, from 2.20 to 2.50 pm, a presentation will be held about the influence of phospholipid complexes on performance and profitability in poultry production.

During the pig forum, from 5-5.45 pm on Thursday, November 13, the lecture will be concerned with better performance, enhanced meat quality and greater profitability in pig finishing.

The company can be found at EuroTier in hall B09, stand 15.
