Danes break the 30 pigs per sow barrier

An elite group of Danish producers is now consistently achieving more than 30 weaned pigs per sow. This elusive goal has been made possible by genetic progress in litter size within the Danish breeding programme combined with the application of innovative management techniques which maximise breeding herd productivity.
