China s pork prices increase

An increase in pork prices has been seen due to the colder months. Reports state that Pork prices were up 5.2% on Saturday from 20 November’.

However, despite the increase the prices are 8% lower than the same period last year.



In China, the North and North Eastern parts have showed the highest increase – . Jilin, Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces had an increase of more than 10%.



As pork is the main meat consumed in China, it is expected that pork consumption will increase with the coming Chinese festivals.
