Belarus bans non-heat treated pork exports to Russia

The Belarus authorities have banned the export of non-heat treated pork to Russia.

As if the 10th of December, the Department of Veterinary and Food Surveillance Department of the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food has temporarily suspended certification of pork products that have not been heat treated at core temperature of at least +72°C for 30 minutes for export to Russia.

The products of more than 20 Belarusian enterprises are now prohibited in Russia. The reason for the decision was due to the presence of the genome of the African swine fever and antibiotics in the meat and microbiological contamination. Belarus and Russia have started joint check-ups at a number of enterprises.
