The processing complex of Agro-Belogorye in Yakovlevsky District, Belgorod Oblast was launched four years ago. The design capacity of the plant is 1 million heads of animals per year or 250 thousand heads per quarter. This is not the first year the company experienced a increase, the representatives of the company stated.
The rate of production of meat on bone products in the first three months exceeded last year’s figure by 5.1% and amounted to 30,000 tonnes. This figure has been achieved not only through an increase of the number of animals but also with the increase of the average weight of pigs at slaughter.
According to the company’s plans in 2015 the existing capacity of the slaughter line will be increased from the current 250 heads per hour to 320 heads per hour. Also it plans to launch a new plant for deep processing of pork next autumn. The new production line will include trimming 360 half-carcasses per hour. The investment cost of the project is estimated at RUB 2.6 billion (US$ 46 million). The payback period is up to 8 years.
